Slidin' Clyde's

Slidin' Clyde's is a happening food joint and video poker bar located in Silver Springs, Nevada, and for our money, is one of the better places to stop by for a variety of reasons. While mainly frequented by the locals of Silver Springs, this venue also sees a number of travelers who will stop in because of the reputation of the place as an excellent hangout. Regardless of when you go, or who is there, you'll feel like you're at your, "Regular Joint," in your own neighborhood. The main reason that this venue is so fun is because it puts the focus on things other than a few machines scattered about. Many of the video poker bars in Nevada tend to have any number of machines, a bar, some TV's, and that's really all they do there...this is especially true in rural Nevada where there is less competition, thus, less need to offer anything unique. In order to offer a unique experience, this location decided to go the route of being more like a friendly sports bar than a casino, so it has a dart board (with occasional tournaments) as well as two pool tables. There's also a jukebox and a comfortable seating area if you'd prefer not to be on a barstool.

Gaming

At this time, there are only twelve total machines in Slidin' Clyde's with ten of them consisting of bartop video poker, and the other two being free-standing Wolf Run and Buffalo slot machines. Obviously, this is not going to be the mecca of gaming selection, but this establishment is really more about the atmosphere than it is about the gaming. Hey, you still get (certain) free alcoholic beverages if you're playing, so who could argue with that?

Hotel/Accommodations

As one might expect, Slidin' Clyde's does not operate a hotel of any kind. In fact, there aren't really any hotels in Silver Springs, you have to go the fifteen miles to Fernley where you can find chain hotels such as Super 8, Best Western and Comfort Suites.

Dining

The entire establishment operates under the name, Slidin' Clyde's, but they do serve food there that the locals rave about. The menu is a combination of a grill and pub food, and both outdoor and indoor dining are available.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Unfortunately, while they try to have a band come in, "About once a month, or so," the entertainment schedule for live music is pretty sparse and they usually don't know until about a week in advance (with exception to holidays) when they're going to be doing anything in that regard. If this is a sticking point for you, then you might want to call ahead first.

Rewards/Deals

There is no players club at this location, and I have been told that gaming promotions are rather infrequent.
